Curfew-like situation in Kashmir valley

In occupied Kashmir, a curfew-like situation prevailed in Kashmir Valley, today, as authorities deployed thousands of Indian police and paramilitary forces in Srinagar and other major towns of the valley. Paramilitary forces and police personnel locked down Srinagar and driving back people to their homes to prevent anti-election demonstrations after protests flared overnight.
Shops, businesses, educational institutions, banks, courts, government and semi-government offices were closed and public traffic remained off the roads in the valley.
Troops patrolled the deserted streets of Srinagar. "We have imposed restrictions on civilian movement as policemen raised barricades and razor wire across roads and stopped residents leaving their homes," said a police officer .(KMS)

Kashmiris are urged to strike during poll days: APHC


All parties Hurriyat conference convened an unusual meeting, Tuesday ,presided by Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq . In the meeting several issues pertaining to Kashmir were debated and it was said that APHC was never a part to Indian sham election process .Terming the elections as a futile practice, these kind of activities have neither affected the course of Kashmir imbroglio nor the nature of the dispute, Mirwaiz said . APHC is never against doctrines of democracy but to respect democratic norms they demand that Kashmir tangle must be resolved as per the wishes of the common stock of people of Jammu Kashmir ,which is our basic democratic right, Umer said. Despite lot of odds Hurriyat activists and its leaders have gone door- to –door too urge naïve people to stay –away from Indian elections in Kashmir - APHC appeals Kashmiris to go on complete strike during sham election days ,so as to express camaraderie or solidarity with the on going freedom movement and voluntarily a respect to the sacrifices which people have rendered since times past, Mirwaiz said.
Later presiding over the joint meeting of the Executive Committee and General Council of the APHC in Srinagar, Tuesday , Mirwaiz said that staying away from the polls had become necessary to convey to the world that the people of Kashmir were struggling for right to self-determination and not for power politics. The movement subsequent to the conclusion of executive meeting , when Senior Hurriyat leader Dr. Ghulam Nabi Hubbi reached home police put him under house arrest. Meanwhile APHC has strongly condemned for putting Executive member APHC Agha Syed Hassan Almosvi Alsafvi, Provincial President APHC Nayeem Ahmad Khan and Senior Hurriyat leader Javeed Ahmad Mir under house-arrest, and has also denounced for raiding Media Advisor Syed Saleem Geelani’s house .These like acts will not deter the resolute of Hurriyat leaders especially common people to struggle for the just cause, Umer said. In the meantime Hurriyat Spokesperson deplored the death of Shakeel Ahmad Salroo S/O Ab. Salam Salroo R/O Bonigam Shopian who died due to negligence of jail authorities of Srinagar Central Jail ; APHC extends heartfelt sympathies with the bereaved family and prays peace to the departed soul.

Kashmiris totally reject election process: Mirwaiz



Srinagar, April 27 (KMS): The Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has said that the people of occupied Kashmir totally reject India’s polls process as it could not resolve the Kashmir dispute in the past neither would do so in future. Mirwaiz Umar Farooq was addressing the workers of Jammu and Kashmir Awami Action Committee at Rajouri Kadal in Srinagar, today.
He maintained that elections could not be a substitute of Kashmiris’ right to self-determination. The APHC Chairman urged the international community to play its role in bringing about a just settlement of the Kashmir dispute.

Mirwaiz vows to continue poll boycott campaign


In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and senior Kashmiri Hurriyet leader while terming the crackdown on Hurriyet leaders and activists undemocratic, said that they would continue poll boycott campaign.
Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in a statement issued in Srinagar said that by placing the liberation leaders under illegal house arrest the authorities had accepted defeat in the occupied territory.
“The same ploy was used to crush our anti-poll drive during the Assembly elections,” Mirwaiz said, adding that the occupation authorities had arrested many Hurriyet leaders and activists.
The APHC Chairman said that in the garb of maintaining law and order situation, the authorities prevented Muslims from performing their religious duties and even were not allowed to offer their Juma prayers.

Stay away from elections :APHC


The Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has urged the people of Indian administered Kashmir to stay away from the ongoing Indian Parliamentary polls as the process has proved totally futile in resolving the basic dispute.
Addressing a crowded press conference in Srinagar, Thursday , the APHC Chairman maintained that the Hurriyet was not interested in power politics and had been struggling in unison with all other pro-movement forces to bring about a just resolution of the Kashmir dispute. He pointed out that Jammu and Kashmir was a political issue and not of a piece of land.The APHC Chairman said that the election process would not change the disputed status of Kashmir and the people involved in the polls process were misleading the public opinion.(KMS)

APHC pays rich tributes to S. Hamid Wani


All Parties Hurriyat Conference convened a special prayer meet at Martyrs Graveyard led by acting Chairman APHC Moulana Mohammad Abbas Ansari to to commemorate 11th Martyrdom of Shaheed-e-Inkilaab (Martyr of Revolution) S. Hamid attended by Acting chairman Peoples League Mukhtar Ahmad Waza along with Senior Peoples League Leaders which include Gh. Nabi Darzi, Gh. Qadir Rah, Pervaiz Ahmad Dar, Mohammad Maqbool Sofi, Mohd Ismail, Shakeel-ul-Rehman, Javeed Ahmad and Gh.. Ahmad Mir besides scores of pro-freedom activists. In the prayer rich tributes were paid to the martyr who is ascribed to be amongst the frontline Pro-freedom leaders of 70’s and was one of the founders of All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC)- which represents the aspiration of Kashmiris politically , diplomatically and socially. A collective Fateh-Khawani was offered to all the martyrs of Kashmir who laid their lives for the pious cause (FREEDOM). Latter on designated gathering also visited the graves of Shaheed-e-Milat Moulana Mohammad Farooq, Shaheed-e-Hurriyat Abdul Gani Lone, Shaheed-e-Azeemat Sheikh Abdul Aziz, Shaheed-e-Insaaf Jaleel Indrabi and Shaheed Ashfaq Majeed Wani; and pledged to carry the mission of martyrs to the logical conclusion. Latter on another prayer meeting was arranged at APHC headquarters presided by its acting chairman and in the meeting people were urged to understand their responsibilities which they owe to the ongoing freedom struggle and were asked to make pragmatically current parliamentary elections a non-issue which will be one of the most admirations to the martyrs of Kashmir - rather an unprecedented honour to our martyrs. In the meantime APHC denounces the arrest of senior Hurriyat leader Zaffar Akber Bhat along with dozens of pro-freedom activists who were protesting peacefully and democratically.
Meanwhile President Jammu Kashmir Mahaz-e-Azadi, Mir Mohammad Iqbal in a statement has paid glowing tributes to S. Hameed Wani on his 11th Martyrdom. Our martyrs are real assets of Kashmiri nation and we have proud over them, Iqbal said. Mir maintained that the unaccomplished mission of martyrs of Kashmir shall be carried to the logical conclusion..

All disputes in South Asia are subject to the resolution of Kashmir:APHC

All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) concluded its 3-day marathon meeting at headquarters Rajbagh Srinagar –matted for the purpose to weave and craft a collective strategy in contrast with present political scenario which was discussed at length and breadth, jointly by General Council and its Executives. In view of international law and political relationship : Kashmir has been declared as a disputed territory and to hold sham elections in the territory is a dubious act ,which will not effect the resolute and the political discipline of Pro-Freedom Kashmiri leadership . APHC will utilize all of its resources to guaranty for the perpetual peace in South Asia for that matter resolution of Kashmir is must and it can not be substantiated by holding so -called elections which have proven futile in Past and will again prove a ghastly failure show. UN resolutions are the candid veracities to the fact that holding facade elections will not change the position of Kashmir tangle. In this context APHC puts a proposal that let us solve this burning issue for ever, and hold plebiscite under the joint supervision of Pakistan , India and pro-freedom leadership , this will be the most viable solution to the imbroglio. APHC considers that in the region were armed forces are equipped with deadly weaponry -the movement of common stock of people is restricted and to hold elections in such situation is meaningless which amounts to a treachery ,and APHC hopes that Kashmiris will understand their responsibility and will not become causality to the deceitful sloganeering : and will make clear to the world community that they(Kashmiris) want peaceful and durable solution of the issue as per their wishes, sentiments, desires and aspiration .APHC shall continue mass contact programmes to elucidate them ground situation , so that unscrupulous elements shall be kept away
APHC feels that under the command of USA to establish peace is South Asia, for which Kashmir holds centrality and all disputes are subject to the resolution of Core issue(Kashmir).
In the meeting regarding Dr. Farooq Abdullah’s recent avowal, APHC maintains that Kashmir is the Nuclear flash point between two neighbouring nuclear powers of the Sub-Continent , if remains unresolved can invite cataclysm , so keeping in view the sufferings of common people , let us jointly put forward the efforts to achieved the cherished goal of Azadi(Freedom) ,so come and join APHC platform for bright future of generation next.
In the meeting it was unanimously decided that APHC will acquaint heads of the World community to evolve peace and serenity in the region which lies in the acceptable and durable K-solution. Moreover it was unanimously decided that mission of Shaheed -e-Milat, Shaheed-e-Hurriyat along with other martyrs shall be safeguarded who treasured a method by laying their precious lives. APHC hails the resolute of Bilal Gani Lone Chairman Peoples Conference to strength APHC and his approach has been welcomed in totality- APHC expressed concern over the illegitimate confinement of Chief Office Superintendent Shabir Ahmad Dar , in the garb of sham elections Hurriyat leaders are caged to attend condolence meetings.

Pro-freedom Leaders Hails Pakistan’s support to Kashmiris

APHC office superintendent Shabir Ahmad Dar, President Mahaz-e-Azadi, Mir Mohammad Iqbal and Acting Chairman Jammu Kashmir Peoples League Mukhtar Ahmad Waza expresses their satisfaction over the avowal of President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari, they reiterated to continue the political, moral and diplomatic support to Kashmiris on the Kashmir issue. They maintained that acceptable and durable resolution of Kashmir can draw a new era of hope, prosperity, development and mutual trust with unbeaten provincial cooperation with the flourishing arrangements of success. It is worth to mention that during a meeting with Prime Minister of AJK Muhammad Yaqoob Khan of Azad Kashmir thanked president of Pakistan that they have been always committed to extend political, moral and diplomatic support to the people of Kashmir and recapped that Islamabads support will help take forward the Kashmir-related dialogue between India and Pakistan.
APHC leaders maintained that responsibility of restoration of world peace lies on the shoulders of world powers. Therefore, Kashmiris have the hope against the hope that the civilized world will utilize all of its resources politically, diplomatically to choke out a democratic solution through a meaningful dialogue process between India and Pakistan captivating into account the wishes and aspiration of people of Jammu Kashmir.
APHC leaders also strongly denounces the attack on Friday congregations who lead a peaceful protest after Friday prayer in Srinagar and added that such forceful tacts would not deter the freedom struggle.

PEOPLES LEAGUE EXPRESSES CONCERN OVER HR VIOLATIONS

In a press statement issued by Senior Hurriyat Executive and acting chairman Jammu Kashmir Peoples League Mukhtar Ahmad Waza has strongly condemned the continued human rights violations committed by Indian troops in Jammu Kashmir. He maintained that the people of Kashmir would continue their struggle for an amicable and durable solution of the Kashmir dispute. He said that the Kashmir dispute is the main hurdle in the cordial relations between the two nuclear neighbouring countries. Spotting of more unmarked graves in Lolab of North Kashmir are the umpteen examples that Indian armed forces have been rendered trigger free and have unleashed terror in every nook and corner of Kashmir.
Mukhtar Waza called upon the international community to continue to highlight the human rights violations being perpetrated by Indian military and para-military forces in Kashmir and to impress upon the government of India to allow an independent and impartial investigation of the mass grave sites in the region. He said that the Kashmir Centre would continue to interact with the Working Group on Enforced or Involuntary Disappearances to ensure that the families of the victims could finally had the answers that they deserved
He urged the international human rights organizations to send a fact-finding mission to enquire about the human rights violations being committed by Indian troops in the region.

Hurriyat Leaders Address Friday Congregations in Kashmir

In continuation of APHC’s mass contact programme several Hurriyat leaders addressed Friday congregations in various parts of valley. In this context Acting Chairman APHC Moulana Mohammad Abbas Ansari addressed a Friday congregation at Sajadabad Chattabal Srinagar in which he paid glowing tributes to Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and declared him the great son of Pakistan, who has played a pivotal role in not only establishing stronger Pakistan but also stipulating Organization of Islamic Countries (OIC) and prayed for the early recovery of Chairman APHC Moulvi Mohammad Umer Farooq, who is suffering from the severe disc ailment. Senior Muslim conference Leader and Chief Office Superintendent APHC Shabir Ahamd Dar addressed at Jamia Masjid Pampore in his speech he laid emphasis on the fact that Kashmiris have rendered Supreme Sacrifices. Later on he led a delegation and visited the house of Shaheed-e-Azeemat Sheikh Abdul Aziz, while paying glowing tributes to him he said that Sheikh Abdul Aziz was a determined freedom fighter having the resolute that Kashmir is an issue which needs to be solved as per wishes and aspiration of Naïve people of Jammu Kashmir - the mission of martyrs shall be continued to the logical conclusion, Shabir said. Meanwhile another delegation led by General Secretary Jammu Kashmir Peoples League Mohammad Ashraf Sofi offered Fateh Khani at Martyrs grave yard in Islamabad Anantnag to accolade Shaheed Mohammad Illyas Wani, Shaheed Farhat Hussein Jan and Mohammad Ayoub Bangroo on their 18th Martyrdom. In the meantime Senior Hurriyat leader Syed Saleem Geelani addressed Friday parishioners at Gole market Karannagar, Srinagar and explained the policy and programmes of Hurriyat expoundly. Chairperson Muslim Khawateen Markaz Yasmeen Raja has strongly condemned the atrocities tendered on common Kashmiris and urged International Human Rights Organizations to deputed fact finding missions and see the plight of Kashmiri detainees who are languishing in different jails of India.

Pro-freedom Leaders hail Najib Razak as new PM of Malaysia

Hurriyat Executive and Acting chairman Jammu Kashmir Peoples League, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza in a statement has felicitated Najib Razak for being elected as sixth PM of Malaysia. We hope that Razak will utilize his countrys influence over the two nuclear neibhbours of Sub-continent (India & Pakistan) who seems to have trained guns against each other will urge them for coming to the result oriented negotiations because Kashmir being the nuclear flash point in the South Asia. Kashmiris are hopeful that it is only meaningful discourse through which durable and acceptable solution of Kashmir will come out, Waza said. Mukhtar maintain that the newly elected PM of Malaysia will help in making OIC an effective tool for the Muslim Uma so that it can address the plight of Muslims of the world with fidelity and dedication.
It is worth to mention that Najib Tun Razak, son of a former premier, was sworn in Friday morning as Malaysia`s sixth prime minister.
He took over from Abdullah Ahmad Badawi who stepped down after leading the country for over five years. Badawi made way for Razak well before the end of his second term, marking a smooth political transition in the prosperous Southeast Asian nation. Razak, 55, took his oath of office before Yang di Pertuan Agong Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin, the royal head of the state. Dressed in traditional black baju melayu (shirt) complete with sampan (a waist band), Razak was administered the oath of secrecy, loyalty and confidentiality. The entire ceremony was steeped in Malaysian traditions, Star Onine said. The swearing in ceremony was witnessed by Badawi and his predecessor Mahathir Mohamad. Razak was born in Kuala Lipis, Pahang, July 23, 1953. He is the eldest son of the late Tun Abdul Razak Hussein, the nation`s second prime minister. His appointment is significant in the country`s history as this is the first time that a former prime minister`s son is holding the post, Bernama, the official news agency said. Razak became the country`s youngest Member of Parliament at the age of 22 when he won the Pekan seat unopposed in a by-election following his father`s death. He then went from strength to strength in politics and government to reach the pinnacle, being elected president of the ruling United Malays National Organization (UMNO) last week that paved the way to his becoming the prime minister.



Meanwhile President Jammu Kashmir Mir Mohammad Iqbal in a statement has warmly welcomed Najib Razak for being elected as sixth PM of Malaysia and hoped that his country will utilize the genuine resources so that two nuclear warring countries of sub-continent India and Pakistan will come on a negotiating table. At present world needs a perpetual peace which can be achieved by the permanent settlement of core issues in south Asia Kashmir is the nuclear flash point which needs to be addressed on priority - therefore, we are hopeful that Malaysia will take the cognizance of the fact in lieu of nuclear armament of India – Pakistan and will help in carving out a durable and acceptable solution of Kashmir as per the wishes and aspirations of the simpleton Kashmiris, Mir said.

APHC will make the constitutional genesis stronger and effective


As desired by Chairman All Parties Hurriyat Conference Mirwaiz Molvi Mohammad Umar Farooq, an unconventional meeting of Hurriyat executives was convened at party headquarters on Thursday chaired by Maulana Mohammad Abbas Ansari, other participants include Prof. Abdul Gani Bhat, Bilal Gani Lone, Fazal Haq Qureshi, Maulana Mohammad Abdullah Tari and Mukhtar Ahmad Waza . In the meeting it was unanimously decided that APHC will make the constitutional genesis stronger and effective, and some pragmatic steps will be initiated in which official - organizational doctrines under a proper discipline shall be given prominence. Meanwhile re-arrest of Senior Hurriyat leader Shabir Ahmad Shah was strongly denounced, which negates the tall claims of those who disseminate that they are the reckoned law enforcing agencies and are operational in all the fours of Kashmir- violating basic HR norms – moreover deep concern was expressed over the deteriorating health condition of APHC Chairman Molvi Mohammad Umar Farooq and in the meeting all executives prayed for his early recovery, so that he will again shoulder the responsibility of Chairman Hurriyat conference till then Moulana Mohammad Abbas Ansari shall be the acting chairman of APHC.

APHC delagation barred from meeting detainess in court

Senior Muslim Conference Leader and Chief office Superintendent Shabir Ahmad Dar led a delegation accompanied by General secretary Peoples League Mohammad Ashraf Sofi and visited Srinager court to witness two detainees Mohammad Ahsan Antoo and Ghulam Rasool Bafanda- who were brought from notorious Tihar Jail of India to attend a court case at Srinager. Police party accompanying the detainees from New Delhi didn`t allow the delegation to meet Antoo and Bafanda even their relatives were not permitted to rally upon, and to enquire about their wellbeing after the prompt intervention of upright judge they were allowed to meet . Shabir Ahmad Dar has expressed serious concern over the inadequate medical facilities offered to the detainees and urged upon the international HR organizations to take cognizance of the fact and seek out the attention concerning the plight of detainees ,who are languishing in different jails of India. -

Solve Kashmir, harvest peace: PL

Hurriyat Executive and Acting Chairman Jammu Kashmir people League Mukhtar Ahmad Waza in a statement has said that in view of present economic world situation it is obligatory upon those developed countries who claim to be the champions of democracy to help for ending up all the predicaments and core issues which exist on the globe. Taking stock of the Asian situation the two core issues Palestine and Kashmir are the bone of contention between various countries , which need to be addressed -so as to give peace a chance to prevail , no matter India is a young democracy and Pakistan is trying to establish the institutions of democracy firmly -the balance of power between Indian and Pakistan is apposite` therefore both the countries must learn to live like responsible neighbors and not to give third country to haunt their state affair : who comes with the vested interests : for that both the countries are urged upon to develop a mechanism- so that an amicable, acceptable and durable solution of Kashmir is evolved: which will respect the sentiments, and aspirations of common stock of people of Jammu Kashmir, Waza said. Mukhtar maintained that it is only peace which can ensure sustaina ble development in the region, so far as peace is concerned it is to be evolved in Kashmir out of the situation but not to be imposed .
